Spending Accounts


Flexible Spending Accounts allow benefit eligible employees to set aside tax-free money through payroll deductions to pay for eligible expenses. Texas Health Resources offers two different flexible spending accounts: Health Care Spending Account and Day Care Spending Account. Both of these accounts operate on a “Use It or Lose It”, per IRS restrictions. If you decide to contribute to one or both of these accounts, you need to carefully estimate the expenses that you will use for the remainder of the year. Any remaining funds left after all eligible expenses have been reimbursed according to plan guidelines will be forfeited.
