Quit Tobacco to Get Time Back
Tobacco smoke contains more than 7,000 chemicals and compounds, hundreds of which are toxic and at least 69 are cancer causing1. Additionally, cigarette smoking is the #1 preventable cause of death in the United States1. Now is the best time to take steps towards quitting all forms of tobacco use.
Quit for Life knows that quitting is about more than just not smoking. The program uses principles and techniques that are based on 25 years of research to teach you how to live without tobacco. The four essential practices of the Quit for Life program are:
- Quit at your own pace
- Conquer your urges to smoke
- Use medications so they really work
- Don’t just quit, become a non-smoker
The program including quitting aids such as replacement therapy products, a quit guide workbook, a personalized quit coach, and access to the Web Coach website. Quit coaches are available for support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (excluding major holidays). Quitting takes practice, and the Quit for Life program is available to help you every step of the way. As a Texas Health employee, the program is available to you and eligible members of your household at no cost to you.
