Give me a Break
It is easy to get lost in your work and forget the importance of frequent microbreaks throughout your day. The activities below only take a minute, but can greatly benefit your health and well-being.
- Take regular eye breaks from looking at your monitor – Refocus sight 20 feet away every 20 minutes for 20 seconds
- Take postural breaks every 30 to 60 minutes – Stand up, stretch, and take a quick walk around your work area
- Make small adjustments to your chair or backrest throughout the day
- Take time to stretch!
In addition to these ideas, Be Healthy Breaks are short workout videos you can use at work to add physical activity to your day, improve blood circulation to your body, and lift your mood. These videos can be done at your desk, during a break from a long meeting, or even at a nurse’s station.
