Lactation Support
Texas Health is dedicated to promoting a family-friendly workplace and with an almost 80% female workforce, we recognize that means supporting new mothers who choose breastfeeding.
Free Breast Pump
If you are enrolled in medical coverage through Texas Health, you are able to receive one free breast pump per pregnancy.
Benefits are only available if breast pumps are obtained from a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) provider. Call your medical plan vendor at 1-877-MyTHRLink (1-877-698-4754), prompt 2, press 1 for Quantum or prompt 2 for UHC to get a breast pump at no cost.
Lactation Accommodation Policy
At Texas Health, we are proud to welcome our mothers back into the workplace. One of the ways we do this is by providing them resources to help meet their nursing needs through the Lactation Accommodation policy.
The Lactation Accommodation policy outlines guidance for private rooms, milk storage and equipment and breastfeeding education.
To access the Lactation Accommodation policy:
- Access the MyTexasHealth SharePoint site (note: login is required)
- Select Employee Resources from the green banner at the top of the page, then select Policies
- On the Policies and Procedures page, click the green HR Policies section
