December 2019 eNewsletter: 2020 ID Cards

ID cards in 2020

If you enrolled or made changes to your benefits during 2020 Benefits Enrollment in November, find out if you should be on the lookout for a new ID card.

Medical: Texas Health Aetna or UnitedHealthcare

  • If you enrolled in coverage through Texas Health Aetna or UnitedHealthcare for the first time, you will receive an ID card by 1/1/2020.
  • If you added a new dependent to coverage for 2020, you will receive an updated ID card by 1/1/2020.
  • If you removed a dependent from your coverage for 2020, you will receive an updated ID card by 1/1/2020.
  • If you changed the plan option you are enrolled in for 2020, you will receive an updated ID card by 1/1/2020.
  • If you remained in the same plan option, you will not receive a new card.

Dental: Aetna

  • You do not need a member ID card to get care with Aetna Dental. When you go to your dentist, just tell the office your coverage is through Aetna, your name, date of birth, and Member ID# (or your social security number).
    • If you would prefer to have a card, you may print one at aetna.com.

Vision: Superior Vision

  • If you enrolled in coverage for the first time, you will receive an ID card by 1/1/2020.
  • If you added a new dependent to coverage for 2020, you will receive an updated ID card by 1/1/2020.
  • If you removed a dependent from your coverage for 2020, you will receive an updated ID card by 1/1/2020.

Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Account: WageWorks

  • If you enrolled in a Flexible Spending Account for the first time, you will receive your debit card by 1/1/2020.
  • If you had a Flexible Spending Account in 2019, you will receive a new debit card from WageWorks by 1/1/2020.
  • If you enrolled in the Health Savings Account, you will receive your debit card by 1/1/2020.
  • As a reminder, Wage Works is a new vendor and the Health Savings Account is a new plan option for 2020. We have been and will continue to work diligently to be able to get cards in the mail to everyone before 2020.  If an unforeseen delay does happen to occur, we will have steps posted on BeHealthyTHR.org for how claims can be filed electronically in the off chance that cards are received after the first of the year.
