WELLNESS CREDIT SCREENING

The Wellness Credit Screening not only gives you basic information about your health, but it also gives you the chance to earn $520 in wellness credits for next year.  What are Wellness Credits?  Wellness credits add extra money to your paycheck to help offset the cost of medical coverage.

Can I participate?

Employees that have active medical coverage through Texas Health from January 1, 2022 to September 30, 2022 are eligible to get their Wellness Credit Screening. You must have active medical coverage at the time of your screening in order to be eligible to earn wellness credits. 

How do I participate?

When to Get Screened

In order for your Wellness Credit Screening in 2022 to count towards your 2023 Wellness Credits, you must (1) have active medical coverage through Texas Health at the time of your screening and (2) get screened between Jan. 1, 2022 and Sept. 30, 2022. 

How to Get Screened 

Option 1: At a Quest Lab

    1. Login to your Virgin Pulse account
    2. From the Virgin Pulse homepage, click Benefits
    3. Scroll down to the Wellness Credit Screening program or type “Wellness Credit Screening” in the search bar 
    4. Click the Start Now button on the Wellness Credit Screening program
    5. You will be directed to the Quest Diagnostics website. To get your screening at a Quest Lab, click the option to Schedule a Screening.
      • Follow the steps to complete your online registration
      • Complete your screening at a Quest Lab
    6. Quest will automatically send your lab results to Virgin Pulse

Option 2: At your Doctor’s Office

    1. Login to your Virgin Pulse account
    2. From the Virgin Pulse homepage, click Benefits
    3. Scroll down to the Wellness Credit Screening program or type “Wellness Credit Screening” in the search bar 
    4. Click the Start Now button on the Wellness Credit Screening program
    5. You will be directed to the Quest Diagnostics website. To get your screening at your doctor’s office, click the option to Order Form.
      • Follow the steps to download and print your form
      • Take your form to your doctor’s appointment for your doctor to complete. Be sure to explain to your doctor that this screening form option is only for processing the related Wellness Credit Screening lab work associated with your employer’s wellness program. You’ll also need to be sure your doctor uses your medical plan option’s in-network lab to process the form to avoid additional charges. 
      • After your doctor completes the form (make sure they sign and date it), you will upload the form to the same Quest website where you downloaded and printed the form. You are responsible for making sure your results are uploaded prior to September 30, 2022. 

After completing either of these options, if your results don’t show up in your Virgin Pulse account after four weeks, please call 1-877-698-4754, prompt 4 then prompt 3 to check the status.

Complete a Reasonable Alternative

Got screened and didn’t meet the numbers?

You can still earn the full wellness credits for 2023. You have two options to choose from:  

  1. Get screened again: Use the Be Healthy programs available to you to help improve your numbers. Then, get screened again before the deadline. You can select one screening option per quarter if you improve your numbers and want to be tested more than once. Your best results submitted by Sept. 30, 2022 will be taken for the purposes of 2023 Wellness Credits (maximum of $20 per paycheck).
  2. Complete a Reasonable Alternative:
    There are two ways to complete a reasonable alternative after you get your Wellness Credit Screening:
    WAIT! Before completing a reasonable alternative below, a screening must be completed first. If a reasonable alternative is completed without a screening on file, Wellness Credits cannot be earned.

    1.  Virgin Pulse Journeys: Go to your Virgin Pulse dashboard and select complete a journey for each number that was missed. Plan ahead! Journeys could take a few weeks to complete, so get started early. Journeys must be completed by Sept. 30, 2022.
    2. Physician Recommendation: if your physician wants you to participate in an alternative activity different from the Journeys, a Reasonable Alternative Action Form must be signed by the physician and submitted with your agreement to complete the alternative activity. The form must be completed by your physician and submitted by Sept. 30, 2022. To access the form:
      1. Go to  your Virgin Pulse Account
      2. Click on Benefits, then View All
      3. Scroll down to Reasonable Alternative: Wellness Credit
      4. Complete your information in Part 1 of the form
      5. Have your Physician complete Part 2 
      6. Ask your physician to fax the completed form to the number provided on the form
